Partly Facetious: Bashing part of our national character
"I simply don't understand this Aitzaz Ahsan bashing."
"Hey, we are a nation of bashers - we bash India, we bash Israel, we bash the US, we bash the..."
"Some of our bashing is only verbal and..."
"I know where you are going with that but my point is that we, as a nation, appreciate bashing and so the powers that be, or those who wish to become a power as they are a power that is not yet..."
"If you ask the PML (N) and the PPP it is a power that never will be."
"Hey, don't get side tracked I thought I was being profound. Anyway my point is that bashing is part of our national character and so the latest target is Ahsan, he is not the first and certainly won't be the last..."
"I would like to ask Ahsan one question: why does he not say that his personal views are distinct from those he argues in court in defence of his client?"
"You reckon, if he makes that distinction Ahsan bashing will end?"
"Well, it will become less. I mean as a lawyer, once he takes on a case, his statements must be focused on the interest of his client..."
"But the benefits he is receiving are disproportionate..."
"What? He is now a member of the Senate as well as a member of the parliamentary committee on judges' appointment...And he is capable and lets be honest he never took more than a paisa or was it a rupee for defending the Prime Minister."
"But you have overlooked the prize that he probably treasures the most?"
"His family has received no benefits and..."
"I wasn't referring to what his family got or did not get."
"He is back in favour so there may be other benefits..."
"Not referring to that either."
"I give up...what benefit do you reckon he treasures the most?"
"Dr Babar Awan in the boondocks, Chisty - Doctor sahib's supporter to put it mildly is out of the job..."
"There is one thing Ahsan can't take from Dr sahib."
"His house, the fees that his law firm made from getting government contracts, his..."
"Nope, his doctorate... what Montecito confers let no man take away."
"Don't be facetious."
